Are you under the impression that all blasto is difficult to keep? I've had the opposite experience. Very hardy and eat happily. However, I can't speak for any of the rare varieties that you've seen in this thread. I only have the typical red/green and the neon green variety. Speaking of which, I wish I knew where I could find some of these AWESOME blastos! that rainbow - think someone called it a sunset- blasto is just wow

Blasto are more similar to frogspawn or hammer -or like the acans in your avatar - in how easy they are in my experience. Just feed them and give them decent water and light and you're good

ive never had an issue with either of mine above.. i have never heard of blastos being difficult to keep. sure they dont grow very fast (wellsi's at least) but they seem to be very hardy IMO.

I've had people who keep SPS tell me that they have trouble keeping blastos. They reason that their water is just too clean. But since my system is dirty, is lit by T5s, and doesn't have a lot of flow, they seem to grow for me.

Picked up this little frag of metallic green and red blastos locally about two weeks ago. There are two small heads forming behind the three larger ones visible in the photo. So far they seem to like my tank. As I'm sure the picture tells, my tank is still young. So, I've spot fed them a few times, and they seem to be growing just fine. The largest head had only a semi-circle of red opposed to the nearly full ring it has now.

Second pic is actinic only from above, which is how it caught my eye from across the room in the fish store.

nice fishstick. i just picked up a piece of the first one with the frosty outsides. in my colony, the end little tentacles of the polyps are actually green as well. ill see if i can get a picture of it
