Show me your canopy DIY LED fixtures!

Yeah Snootch I hope my build looks that clean and professional once I get all the wires in there.

Do you have any shots of how you ran your lights to your drivers.

I have 6 of the same meanwell drivers for my build, and was thinking of mounting them right in the back of the canopy.

How are your wires run? grouped together and run through tubing? Curious since its pretty small gauge wire used for the led builds ...

And not only that but there would be a lot of wires running from the LED's to the drivers, and then to the controller. Just curious how you kept all that chaos so clean looking.

Thank you Robert1969 and LoJack,

LoJack, you'll need a pair of wires running to each string of LEDs.
On my build, I have 4 sets of strings so I made 2 twisted power cables consisting of 3 pairs of 22 gauge wire each, sleeved them in black cable sleeving and terminated with DC Power plugs.
The 2 extra pairs are for the Moon light LED and 120mm Fan.

All 3 MW drivers share a single 120AC power cord so I only use 1 recepticle on the Neptune Energy bar.

As far as the dimmer leads, they run under the black acrylic mounting plate and exit right above the Zener diode regulator.

Here is mine. Not quite as fancy but it works:). I built the canopy and led setup

Not the best pics they r from my iPhone lol

Great work everybody!

I ended up mounting my 2 fixtures to the top of my canopy with long bolts. Used nuts to hold the fixture off of the wood. Simple.

Keep them coming!

HAHA "But nothing serious" nice... lol

I am contemplating redoing my rig right now myself.... currently im running 3 heat sinks at 16X7 with each one hold 40LED's for a total of 120 Emiter, over my 210. The problem im having is huge spotlot effect. I dont watn to run without optics bc im scared i wont get enough light down towards the bottom but im really suffering with spread!

Current PAR Readings say i have 150+ Down in the sandbed(towards the center that is) about 1200 right above teh water 11" below the heatsink. the tank is 28" tall so total of about 38" and still getting decent par.... but again this is just in the Center where the light is really concentrated. So i am thinking of going from this:

To something more like this: 20LED's per C Channel, or do 5 Channels with 24LED's per Channel.

Hrmmm...how bad is your spotlighting? I was planning a similar rig on three 5.9"x16" heatsinks, but with 36 LEDs each. I've already got everything, just need to build it. Hard to imagine they are spotlighting that close to each other. Do the LEDs spotlight, or does each heatsink unit?

its not really that bad, but my tank is 72X24 and there is one heatsink per opening of 24X24. Its more of spot light at the center of each opening lol.... and the reason being bc they are so tightly close together. If you already have all your goods, i would suggest either running them with 80* optics or maybe without just to see how much spread you get.

Here you can see how dark it looks towards the front and back... super bright in the middle of each 24X24 section

Sweet. I actually think that looks awesome. It accents the important parts of the tank IMO. I'm sure it's a little brighter than the picture shows? My tank is also a 210, 72x24, with three openings, which is exactly why I designed my rig as you did.

Over my 90 I have 50 LED's on two 23" heatsinks. I currently am not running optics because the fixture is about 4" off the water.

Everybody in the pool looks happy. LPS growing great on the bottom, SPS about half way up looks great.
