i wanted to start a thread for people to show off their cube tanks! Nano or 300 ... i don't care!

I'll kick it of with my new 24" that has just started cycling. It was coolest projects i've ever done. you can checkout the whole thread --> HERE <--

i will be tying in a 14x12x12 "cube" into the system for frags. they will sit side by side ... lighting on the smaller cube is a Reef Optix III DE 150W HQI Pendant

Do you feel the 24x24x24 has plenty of space? I'm trying to figure out what size cube I want, but right now I have a 180 reef and want to downgrade the size. Lookin good so far!

I'm interested in starting a cube as well. I'm thinking of the Oceanic 30-gallon cube though. I am still trying to decide what lighting to put on top, either a 150HQI, or most likely a 175 pendant.

that is freaking awesome corro.

i can't wait to get my cube....they are the BEST looking tanks IMO.

I'm running a 60 gallon cube (24 x 24 x 24) for LPS and softies and find it's a little shy on room. I recently took down my 190 flat cube (43 x 43 x 24h) when we moved and miss the width of the old tank! I currently have a 180 standard in wall tank setup but still hope to go back to a large cube tank - the aquascaping possibilites are amazing.

PaintGuru: for me ... this is plenty of space, but i didn't want something really big. yet :) I can totally see the appeal of a 90 or bigger though.

neuroracer: those are sweet looking little tanks! i really donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t think that a 250 DE HQI would be to much for the oceanic 30. that is what i would get if i were to do a 30. oceanic also makes a 58g cube ( its off true cube by a couple of inches).

lunchbucket: thanks! i agree 100% the are awesome tanks!

boogs: post up some pics of your 24"!!!! the 180 sounds like it was awesome!

I am cycling and ocanic 30 gallon cube. It is very sweet. I purchased 45 lbs. of fiji rock from reefer madness. The rock did not seem to very fresh. It has been a week now and the ammonia is 10+ even with a 4 gallon water change every day. I have seen no sign of life, hitchhikers or anything.

I am using an amiracle hot overflow, down to an 8 gallon sump. I have an aqua-c remora (Awesome Skimmer!), two 75 watt ebo-jager heaters, and a tunze osmolater for top off. I am using a rio 2500 for return, I have plans to replace it with a mag 7 very soon.
The returns are through a SCWD, which is working really, really well right now. The plumming is a bit loud even with the use of a stockman standpipe in the prefilter. There is tons of water flow through the system. The sps are going to love it. The best purchase so far had been the lighting system that I have chosen. I purchased a Giesemann NOVA II pendant with a 150 watt hqi bulb in the new megachome 13000k color. This system is the perfect soulution for lighting a small cube, plus it looks sweet. I hope to start a thread soon with some pics....

judobeast: sounds killer! with TONS of flow. if i were to do my 24" again i'd put another set of holes for a second SQWD. Be sure to post some pics here also! :D

cube crazy: lookin' good ... cant wait to see it all stocked ... keep us updated on your progress!

CUBE TANKS ARE FREAKIN AWESOME!!!! you guys got me all pumped to get one. I promised my wife and myself I would wait until we move in like 2 yrs, but I got the itch. Any suggestions on where to look for one, I want something like a 125-135.

cube crazy nice tank, stand and canopy. that looks like a lot of work. did you make the tank yourself, or buy it somewhere.

what type of plumbing are you going with?

Thanks Mike,
I ordered the tank from a local dealer, but did build the stand and top(not to bad for 1st project since 7th grade:rolleyes: )As far as plumbing goes I went with some rigid+flex pvc, I used flex to eliminate some of the 90deg bends and such. There are some pics in my gallery that show a little of the plumbing work I have done so far.
