IMO, bigger is better. However, back when I had my 29 ( regular sized tank ) I had a hard time finding lights for it -- 30" long. I ended up getting a 30" Sunpod (( 250 MH + 6 moonlights )), but I believe that they don't make that sized fixture anymore. So, you might want to make sure you can find the lights you want first.

Where is a good place to get a large cube tank? should I do glass or acrylic? anyone done something this big without a sump and have it made AIO?

I want something like 36"x36"x20"

My new 36"24"x36" (LxHxW). The lack of coral will be taken care of soon.

Awsome set up, can you please post some pics of your set up like the lighting fixture and the sump

Is your lighting fixture 24" or 36" long?

For you guys with 36"+ cubes, How hard is it to reach to the center of the tank for aquascaping & placing corals?

I was looking at a 36" cube the other day at a LFS and I would say for myself at 6'1" it would be a stretch to go any lower than halfway.

As a side note Marineland has a new line of cubes out in 3'.4' and 5' flavours with 3 or 4 different choices of wood for the stand/canopies. Also an option for starfire glass as well.
