Show me Your Fancy STANDS!!!

I'll post up my stand for my 75 gallon. I made it out of select pine and birch, sanded it, pickled the wood and sealed it. It actually has a nice white transparent look, the photo does it no justice.

Main tank is 195cmx70cmx70cm, 12mm glass.
(78"x28"x28")

Sump is 150cmx50cmx45cm, 8mm glass
(60"x20"x18")

Filtration will basically be live rock, DSB and a good protein skimmer.
Will include a QT and frag tank into the system plumbing.

Still haven't decided what I'm going to put in it (LOL).
Was keen on a FOWLR, but am feeling a strong affinity to trying out corals.

Very nice looking setup.
will be upgrading to a tank with similar dimensions (200x85x70) (80x34x28) and would appreciate your help with the following:
-Do you think going with a 75 cm (30 inches) height would still be manageable (in terms of being able to arrange corals on the lower levels?
-isn't 12mm a bit too thin for a tank this size? on my tank the builder is suggesting 15 or eevn 20mm?
-will you go with islands for scaping or will it be a rock wall that separates the two rooms from seing each other? and in that case do yo uthink going deeper would have allowed you a better scape from both sides or is 70cm enough?
Thanks.

Figured I would add to the collection here. This thread is loaded with great stands and is also an inspiration to anyone wanting to build there own. I went for more of an antique look. I still have to build the doors yet but so far I'm happy with it.

JCR's Reef,

Nicely done. I like the glassy look to it. Makes me want to make something else so I can use epoxy on it. LOL :D

Thanks guys. I dont remember the brand name but it is self-leveling and a PITA to work with if its your first time. It comes in a box and is usually above the 1 gallon cans of varnish and if memory serves me correctly around $20.

You guys and girls have given me some great ideas for my upcoming stand build. From look of all the builds here. It looks like Marine Depot should start sellig crown molding. It would be the hotest selling item :spin1:

With all these beautiful stands make mine look pitiful. I have a 55 gallon stand with a 29 gallon tank on one end and the stereo on the other end.

there are some beautiful stands here. I am in the process of making an oak stand as we speak. I have gotten quite a few good ideas from here. I will be sure to document my progress and post them on here very soon!

System 3 makes a nice 2 part epoxy perfect for the glass look and self leveling. Jamestown distributors and I've seen it at my local woodcraft store.

I will be building a skin for a steel stand I made soon and this thread has my head wild with ideas, deciding on a design, type of wood etc is going to be challenging now HA!

Everyone has amazing work!

Whoop. This is at the old house. I am off tomorrow and I am going to try and bust *** and get it finished.
