Show me Your Fancy STANDS!!!

I love the stands that are built almost like walls to divide rooms. This thread is and awsome place to get great ideas. Id like to see more stands set up in this way. Woundering how the aquascapes is set up in these tanks as well. After my finals next week im gonna start build my stand. Im sick off lookiing at my metal stand wraped in gold fabric. lol

Here is another one I finished up, this one I'm keeping for myself.

Really well done - congratulations on your build. What type of wood and finish are you using?

Thank you for the compliment! If I were to guess I would say I have around 30hours in it. That stand is built from Sapele , which is a species of African mahogany. I thought it was easy to work with, and enjoyed the flashy grain pattern. The finish is a commerical grade lacquer sprayed threw an airless gun. I plan on starting a build thread once I get the tank up and running.

No sorry I do not have a build thread here and this is a fish only tank. My reef tank is shown in the post below my original post (post 479 above)

Here is a shot of mine. I bought 16/4 walnut and cut all of my own veneers.

doors open. It has doors on all three sides of the stand and canopy.

Just for the record, I know my tank looks like crap. I am just now starting to get over a full tank crash.

Wow, nice job with the veneers. Wish I could do that. :)

Here's my book shelf stand. Built from 1" cold rolled steel and powder coated white. Shelf's are all removable too. It will hold two more tanks on the top sections.

Thanks! It was a total PITA cutting all of in and then making my own edge banding. Here is a picture of the walnut before I milled it up.

Ah, I like walnut. Do you have a special piece of equipment for making the veneers? I've seen it done commercially (on TV of course :)).

After six months I finally finished it. Here is my new stand. I made everything but the crown molding on it. I built it because my wife didn't like the skimmer sitting next to the stand. The tank is 60 X 18 X 26 and the stand is 9 feet long, but the stand was built for my future upgrade to a 250 DD. Now I just have to get the fish and corals back into it, but that won't be for another month.

Saltwater Stand / tank project

I have to say that all the tanks posted are awsome. :strange:
My project is slow but slowly building Rome.
55 gal with 20 gal sump. Got them during the $1 gal sale.
The stand I built has matching doors to our kitchen cabinets. HD casters, fiberglass lined base cabinet, granite tile (matches kitchen) and the ends of the cabinet at the bottom are open. This allows electrical to be run.
Not perfect but I'm a utilitarian.
