Here is my stand, I love the tapered legs that match the rest of my furniture. they were a lot harder to do than I initially thought. Having a 2x4 frame and having to use birch venire to finish. Anyways here are some pics.

I just got most of the stain on. I have a few adjustments to make but will be putting the poly on in a few days.

here are my photos

Steel fabricated stand with line-x coating for waterproofing...

then custom cabinetry that is fully removable if needed mounted to the steel frame....

I love the way it came out....

tank size is 96x30x28

Reefrubble, i guess its pretty easy, holding columns are hollow metal construction outfitted with plastic or wood outer side to accomodate piping and thats all.i guess its just wood painted with quality paint or metal construction fitted with plastic on the outside. Perfection is usually simple.

I would like to build it out of wood , and make it a bit taller . I wish I could see what is under the skin .

This stand has to achieve only one thing - hide plumbing while supporting the wight of the tank, because all of the equipment is in fish-room, so basically it must be just hollow columns of wood dressed in thin, painted outer shell
