Show me Your Fancy STANDS!!!

Thanks again for the input. I'm debating picking up a nicer circular saw and buying/building a guide for it rather than buying a cheaper table saw. Still uncertain. (I love the idea of a TrackSaw system, but not for that $$). Maybe even a cheap band saw from harbor freight/sears if the budget isn't too stretched.

Again, that is what I would suggest. Especially if you're not sure you will continue with woodworking. A simple guide can be made with 1/8" hardboard.
1. Rip a 3-4" wide strip of hardboard by hand with no guide.
2. Rip another piece 10-12" wide.
3. Glue and staple the thin strip onto the thicker strip with the clean edge of the hard board facing the middle.
4. Using the now straight edge as a guide, cut the excess off. (hope that all made sense)

I've made several of these in 8', 4', and 1'. Simple and effective.

This is exactly what I use. It was only going to be temporary til I bought a nicer track system, but it works so well that I've never needed to upgrade. Add a set of wooden saw horses, good clamps to clamp your guide to the plywood and you're all set. A table saw is invaluable if you're doing much woodwork, but the above method works great for dealing with plywood.

Very well done! Great attention to detail.
Only a true man at heart would have a Craftsman Toolbox in his livingroom!

The paint work is finally complete on the stand for the 187 build. I am very happy, especially since my wife likes how it turned out! Please let me know what you think.

WOW!!! Incredible setup and I love all the true "show size" corals in there.

Great work people!!! Just finished this shaker style up for a client. I milled everything myself from rough sawn stock. Select alder cherry stain and 6 coats of dull rub precat lacquer.

Very nice, clean and simple look. Great work!
Is there a matching canopy in the works?

Hands down, one of the best threads I've ever read on reef central. It took me a few hours to get through it but has given me some great ideas for my "dream tank."

Very, very nice to all! I read through the thread, maybe I missed it, what is the consensus on the white paint used on the interiors?
