Working on my new build design, which will be 96x30x30 in the dining room. I would like to run 16 t5 (8 bulbs across the tank x2) with hydra 52s in the middle. Looking for ideas to build a floating canopy that can be suspended and raised/lowered. With the suspension cable

My canopy sits on the tank but the top of the canopy is all open to release heat. If interested I can share a pic.

There are many ways to do it, it will depend on how you can safely attach it.

I went from this...

I went with a different approach in my 220 . I built my canopy from the ceiling down , however it completely opens up for easy maintenance !! <a href="http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Slate55/media/AB996B3F-959C-45D7-8492-D6D51110552D.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z333/Slate55/AB996B3F-959C-45D7-8492-D6D51110552D.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo AB996B3F-959C-45D7-8492-D6D51110552D.jpg"/></a>

Wow slate55, that would have save me a bunch of time and money if I would have seen that last month good job.

Yes, halides. 3x250W radiums, originally I was using vho to supplement, but changed them out to 48" reefbrite XHO's all blue .

this pic was only 2 halides, but I stuffed a 3rd on in there :)
