Here is my rainbow monti, I picked up this weekend can't wait to get her colored up and grown out:bounce3:

very nice. How long have you had it for? are the rainbow montis a fast grower?

It grows like a weed in my tank. I had two 8+" colonies in my tank. Just recently broke one up and sold it all.

A few weeks, it encrusted in that time seems to be a quick grower for it's size.

all monti seem to grow real slow foe me tho.

Yes. These things are like weeds, mine overgrows everything in it's path, and eats zoas for breakfast.

the second pic of it is only from last week. I lost the fist piece when my tank crashed a year ago but got a small frag of it back from a mate which is growing so slow for me. All my monti dont grow and I have no idea why.

what do you guys find is the best placement for them? higher light levels, like right under the bulbs? maybe 4-6" from water surface? lots of flow?

You can tell where the original frag was, thats about 8 months worth of growth.

mine is high up, but off to the side of my pendant in the wake of my return drain so lots of indirect flow.

It's a zeo tank so params are
Cal 420
All 7-7.5
Po4 0.00-0.01
Etc

Acro growth is decent
