I was hoping people could post pictures or explain how their RO units are set up. I got an RO unit a while back but there was no plumbing in our basement by my tank, so I had to hook it up to the hose outside everytime i needed RO water for top-off or for water changes. In the winter I would use tap water because I didn't want to deal with the hoses freezing and all that.
I want to branch off the water pipes now so i have water to the basement so I can use RO water year round. I am new to this whole set up though. I'd like to set it up to fill a 55 gallon barrel by my tank. That way I can use the water out of the barrel for water changes and I also want to have a pump in there which will have a float valve in the last part of my sump and then will pump water in the sump when it goes down to use as an auto-top off.
I am just wondering the best way to hook up an RO unit to do this. I see there are all sorts of valves and auto shut off parts and all of that. I know nothing about it and can't seem to find what I am looking for through search. Thanks!
