The shape and growth form of M. setosa like any other sps coral will be dictated by the flow rate and pattern. As for its colouration, I would place it under blue dominated light spectrum (e.g. ATI blue + and ATI coral +) as this would enhance the fluorescent pigmentation. As for its growth rate, based on my own experience, I would place it under a minimum of 250 mmol·s-1·m-2 PAR.

I keep mine about 6" off the bottom, approximately 36" from the lights [400W 14K/20K Radiums] and in moderate flow. I also broadcast feed a combo of Oyster Feast and Coral Frenzy twice a week.

pic is a little old but there's some setosa in it...

Now that scares me a little. Been worried about mine taking over too much space.. What wins the turf battle the Setosa or the Acropora?

Looks like the Setosa in that pic lol.

the acros seem to beat out the setosa :).

I just took this quick (blurry) pic and you can see that a small section in the center front of the colony is grafting to a golden color. it looks pretty cool! I made a frag from that grafted section for a friend and when people see the frag they can't believe its a setosa.

the colony is over a foot in diameter and makes a great acro shelf :P

That is really crazy. Doesn't it take over the acroporas?

Sold this piece a couple of days ago. My last one. Only Acros from now on!
