This one in the foreground was 80% dead when I rescued it and half the size.

Stone, I see hints of green and purple in it. I have a feeling that coral will take off very nice under the right conditions/lighting.

here's mine. Brownish/greenish sticks with fuzz attached. lots of fuzz. Always looks that way, betting it always will. Right now it is about 8" below a 14K 400W MH bulb. Directly below. Never changes colour. Doesn't matter how close or how far.

That's awesome! I love finding Diamonds in rough!

I second the motion on prop-frags' calcified poo/acro? That's the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time. I have to say I'm embarassed for you Mike. :D

Don't know what it is but it grows like crabgrass. This

Similar to the previous acro in color but grows much more slowly and more knarly. Slimes copiously when it's fragged.
Hey Michael,
The first coral you posted is an A. microphthalma. I've had one just like yours that grew like a weed.

The second coral is an A. formosa. From my experience, they will turn a dull golden brown with blue tips unless you give them extremely intense lighting.

Take Care,
Graham

Thanks for the comments. I got the colony about two months ago for $15. I bought it to see if I could turn it into a gem. It's still ugly but it has a knarly growth pattern that looks pretty cool. It is flouro green under actinics so like you guys said, hopefully I can get some color into it. CLKWRK- Awsome pics! MarineFreak- It was sold to me as A. Lokani which it closely resembles to me but Ill have to wait for a little more growth to be sure.

This one is like a clam. From the front it looks brown. From the top it looks bright green. I have never seen it change in 8 months. It just started to grow about 1/8" new tips.
