Show off your ANGELS!

Each angel will have its own personality. Some have a taste for corals, or certain corals, some don't. It always helps to keep them well fed, but make sure your system is setup for the extra bioload.

This Joey I have had him for about a month. He is in a mixed reef. He does nip occasionally at my corals but not alot. He loves his algea sheets and sponge cubes. He is just starting to change.

Nice emperor - be careful once he grows up thou' :eek2:

He can be a nasty nipper to all meaty corals + he grows up quite large too!! Most people I know keep them when they are juv (me included) and once their colors started to change, they can transform from a real angel to a monster :(

O hmm, never had a problem with the two I have had. My Current one is doing will, you just have to not have corals they like or feed it well.

Hello,

yes the emperor needs at least a big tank (min 600g I would say - more is even better) and good feeding....
and then he still likes several kinds of corals (so keep in mind that you only will be able to keep a limited number of coral species)

regards

Markus

Beautiful angels everyone!
buddah001,
What kind of sponge cubes do you use--the frozen angel formula?
And someone else mentioned sponge pellets--any idea what kind??
Thanks

I had one in a 180 for several years without a problem. I have one in a 375 now without an issue.

I use the angel and butterfly formula frozen.

I've had her for a year now. She eats shrimp, scallop, mysis, mysid, Rod's Food, Nori, and Spectrum flakes.

I know you've seen pics of it before Mike, but these are new and I want to play.

Come on this is just crazy unless you are filthy rich normal blue collar working americans can't afford that size of a tank. Getting my 180g up and running has been expensive. And he can live a wonderful happy life in my 180g;) ;) ;) . I know that they get big but as long as you keep them well fed they will not be a problem. I know I can't keep alot or any zoas,LPS or clams. And so be it.I love SPS and softies so that is my sacrafice to give my emperor Joey a good home.

Yes it is Oceans Nutrition Angel Formula great stuff for the angels.
I a not trying to start a war about housing angels but I will make sacrafices on what kind of corals I keep to have my Emperor since I believe they are one of the most beautiful fishes in the ocean. And I am very fortunate to be able to give him a good and descent home.

buddah001 - that is all it takes, just an understanding of what they eat and hoping that is not the coral you want to keep.

PS my Emperor has never toughed clams.
