Show off your ANGELS!

Hey Nick,
I am starting with a 90 gal so I am guessing I will have to wait a bit to get a Emporer.....I love the juvi which is my tattoo...
Can you recommend a site where I can research which angels I can mix... I want a Flame and Coral Beauty..love the singapore and oh who am I kidding I love them all. Really like the Asfur also!
I am not going for a reef tank so that I can have angels.

IMO, a 90 is pretty much going to limit you to dwarf angels, and might be able to get 2 of them in there. Personally, unless you are getting a Singapore from a local reefer, and an LFS that has had it for 30+ days, and is eating very well, I would stay away from that angel.

Beautiful multibarred....how long have you had it? It looks well fed....nice pic too.

Nick

Cheers. She's a beaut, one of my favourite fish and to be honest I never thought I would buy one due to their reputation of being very picky eaters.

This one was feeding on frozen at the LFS and I've had her for about 10 months. Greediest fish I've had. Currently moved to feeding New Era flake and frozen regime.

Very shy still but getting very slightly braver over time. Pretty aggressive to its reflection but leaves the other fish alone.

Have to agree with Toddrtrex...you could possibly get along with a Flame and a Coral Beauty in a 90 gallon...but I would add them to your display at the same time to give you the best shot at success.

IMO, RC is one of the best websites for researching fish, inverts, and equipment. There is a member here named John Coppolino, goes by the screen name Copps....

Search out his posts and read up on what he does and how he does it....I'd have to call him pretty much THE angelfish guru here.

However, Toddrtrex has managed to keep a couple of pairs of Potter's angels for some time now, and they are a notoriously difficult pygmy angel to keep long term.

Windy, its impressive to see such a pretty fish doing so well in captivity...I'm jealous...Hopefully RCT Hawaii will get back to breeding and selling them soon. I'd love to have one that was captive bred.

I received the male back in Nov 2009 (about 5.5") and female back on Apr 2009 (was 2 7/8") and it's about 3.5" now. The male was introduced to the female on 2/27 and both seem to be getting along better with each passing week. Now the female is pretty comfortable swimming next to the male.

Here are my Regal (Pygoplites diacanthus) and juvenile Majestic (Pomacanthus navarchus) in QT right now. About 3 weeks in and both are eating very well.
