I finally got my hands on an aussi Symphyllia Wilsoni!!!

Here's ours, just picked it up yesterday. I don't know if it will "open" up more once acclimated but we like it so far. Also attached picture of a "hybrid" acan we picked up; notice the 2-3 morphed polyps.

Sorry for the color, I didn't use the flash but will try to do so and post again later.

No Fighting in fact we have not seen any tentacles on the Symphyllia at all. Just to be safe, we will separate them more than the pix soon.

Here are another few shots using the flash...better representation of the color.

By the way, how do you insert pix into the body of the post instead of the little attachments?

An easy way is to upload your photos to some place like photobucket, then copy the IMG code under the photo to your post.

thats a very nice peice uslloyds. I read in someones post that his symphyllia was too close to his acans and the pics were sad. The acan lost big time

Great pick up!! See here- http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1725765

Mine is by far my favorite thing in the tank. I grind up flake prime reef and he eats like a pig. They usually really color up their first few months in captivity if they're slowly light acclimated. Mine (see link) went from that color to a bright orange/red and teal. It's grown 4 more more mouths also. Switching to ATI T5s helped the color to...

Keep an eye on the flesh on the lower part of the skeleton. It looks like it may have had some recession. I on hear some the flesh just keeps on receding until it's gone. It's thought to be something similar to redbugs if I remember correctly.

I have my eye on the recession. It seems to be in good health, ive had it for two weeks now though so time will tell. I read about that as well

I just picked up this one:

Based on what you all are saying, I may have some surprises in store if this baby colors up. Please post some care advice. Thanks!

Looks great guys!

I have yet to see one of these at one of my LFS. If I ever do I have a feeling I'll be going home with a lighter wallet.
