Show your nano cube with Viper light pics.

I just wanted to see some nano's running the viper light on them.

Also will the SunPod de halide fixture fit on the jbj nano cube, like it does the aquapod?

I have heard alot of mixed reviews on the viper and it seems to me the SunPod is way better.

Here is a pic of my Viper with a Catalina 10k bulb. The JBJ died after only 1 week and I just got the new replacement bulb after waiting 2 weeks. I don't think I will buy another JBJ item for a long time.

The color is a little more yellow than I prefer, I will take another pic of it with the new replacement bulb from JBJ.

Looks like its enuff light for a nano.

U r right the tank looks yellowish in the picture.

I have heard that the factory bulb that ships with it is crap, but as soon as some1 puts a upgrade bulb in it all is well

I myself was thinking about skipping the jbj buld and getting the 20k aqualine bulb instead. The aqualine upgrade is like 39.00 with purchase of the nano cube with the viper, from nanocustoms.

Here is our tank with the 150w Viper and a 14k Pheonix bulb...Nice crisp color with a hint of blue.

You can get the 150w phoenix 14k bulb from the illuming.com for 55 shipped. I've dealt with this guy several times, and has quality service. The bulb is amazing.

Thanks......you can get it as an upgrade from nanocustoms, I think it was $39 extra but worth it from what I've heard about the stock bulbs.

I know what you mean. My wife has complained about it looking tacky since the skimmer was added. I am working on a modified hood to hide it all.

the skimmer is badarse though... I have one on my 29 and it pulls out some nasty stuff

I finally got my new replacement bulb from JBJ and I am disappointed at the result of the output from the JBJ 14K bulb. The output is very dim compared to the cheap ($25) Catalina 10k bulb, the catalina is about 2x brighter than the JBJ. Guess I will have to fork out some more money and get a Ushio 20k bulb. Here are the pic's of the new JBJ bulb after a couple of days usage.

SurfsUp, that new bulb u got looks pretty nice, better color imo, than the yellowish look.

U said u are still not happy though?, just not as bright as u want it?

I was wondering if u had the 70 watt, or the 150 watt jbj on your 30g?
If its a 70 watt u might want to go for the 150watt instead to get your brightness.

Or maybee there is that magic bulb still out there, u just still have to find it

Anyways good luck to u in finding your good lighting.

Maybee, more people could post here with the different brand bulbs and specrtums used, Cause man ohhh man does lighting very alot!!
