Shrimp ate my nem?

Ok this is a rumor i have heard, but i wanted to ask RC.

I have a small BTA and it was doing fine till about a week ago when i noticed it closed up alot of the time. At the same time i noticed my Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp was standing right above it all day and would not leave its side. Today I woke up and inspected the nem and i see what looks like little chunks taken out, like the shrimp would do if i put a piece of raw shrimp in there.

It is not my water parameters as i monitor them closely.

30g Tank im using for a storage while i am conducting hypo on my DT

Salinity - 1.026
Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 5
Temp 79.5-80.5 between the day and night

ill post a pic of the nem when i get back from taking the dogs for a walk (the battery for the camera is charging)

Cleaner shrimp have indeed been implicated with causing problems with anemones. That ranges from literally picking and eating pieces of the anemone to damaging them while stealing food. It's definitely a gamble with a cleaner shrimp, as not every individual causes a problem (or, in turn, actually gets eaten by the anemone), but others cause serious ones. Not a gamble I'd personally take, though. How long have you had the anemone?

i have had the nem for about 2 months now he was looking very well and doing great i put him in the 30g right before i started my hypo which was about 6 weeks ago. I would feed him every other day a piece of chopped raw shrimp. Like i said the shrimp just started hanging out near the nem im guessing he caught wind of the feeding pattern. I have not seen him pick at it but the nem is in bad shape now i tired putting a plastic container over the nem at night to get the shrimp off of him but he just wonders back everday.

Im afraid the nem is close to death, if so should i remove it before i get bad problems. His foot is still attached to the rock i put him on.

Observe for now and keep trying hard to keep the shrimp away from the anemone by any means necessary. You may also want to decide, at this point, which you would prefer to keep--the shrimp or the anemone. Again, keep observing, because I've had plenty bounce back. Any pics for confirmation, though?

I had to remove my pair of cleaner shrimps when I saw them hanging on a rock above the carpet anemone and plucking at the tentacles.

i could not bear to take a picture of the poor guy he was alive 2 days ago and now he is dead so i removed him i hope he does not contaminate the tank i will do a water change

it was like removing a piece of jelly from the water. makes me sad
