Shrimp babies

Yesterday my tank got a big surprise. A whole bunch of little shrimp were born. I caught all the shrimp that I could and placed them in my fish net in the top of the tank, so the fish will not eat them. Question that I have is how should go about and feed and take care of them. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.:)

cyclope eeze ,instant baby brine shrimp (new product by ocean nutritant ,a bit expensive, once you opened it has to go in ref. and i has 6 weeks of life), pulverizes flakes. good luck. jakleen

Om@r it is very common for shrimp to spawn, they should do it every 6 or 8 weeks. The babies are very hard to impossable to grow. They really need to float around in the sea for a while and eat diatoms but good luck anyway.

Just about every tank that has shrimp has "baby shrimp" .. they make great fish food but are just about impossible to raise into adult shrimp. Your wife, your wallet, and your fish will appreciate your letting the baby shrimp stay in the show tank.

Om@r, do you know what type of shrimp they are, as this will determine the food and care that they need to raise them.
Congrats and good luck.

Unless you actually have shrimp in the tank, I doubt they are "baby" shrimp. Most likely they are Mysid Shrimp. On the other hand, it is possible to raise shrimp. But depending on the species depends on the difficulty. This thread is an amazing account about rearing Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis). Unfortunately, some species are nearly impossible to raise. On the bright side, shrimp are often easy to breed, and the larvae make excellent food.
