Shrimp breeding

Hi all,

New to the hobby and reading as much as i can these days.
One thing i noticed is that despite lots of articles and tips on breeding certain types of fish i notice very little information on breeding shrimp.

I assume it must be quite challenging but surely not impossible?

Given the costs of cleaners shrimp (In Oz at least), i would have thought it worthwhile trying?

Has anybody had any success in this area?

Cheers

I have not heard much about shrimp breeding, but I have not really looked to hard either. There is an invertebrate forum, you may try posting there as well.

It wasn't long ago I saw a really cool how-to on breeding sexy shrimp. Didn't look hard, just needed some dedication to get it done. If I can get a few minutes to dig around I'll try to find it.

I don't think it would be too hard. My cleaner pair release 100's of live babies every so often. If you collected them and put them in a closed refugium environment with no mechanical filtration. Perhaps just a sponge air filter I suspect you could raise them.

My first pair of cleaner shrimp had babies all the time. None of them lived because I couldn't get them out and I suspect they because food for the fish.

Well that's encouraging comments guys. Maybe i can start something and share with the masses :-)

Ill keep looking for info.

Cheers
