shrimp eating leopard wrasse

Has anybody ever had a leopard wrasse eat a cleaner shrimp? My cleaner shrimp that I just added to my 34 solana can't be found, and the leopard is the only fish in the tank.

Well first, the leopard really shouldn't be in a tank that small. You will run into overall size issues, should it not starve before it reaches a mature length.

I doubt your leopard is why you can't find the cleaner, unless the cleaner was small and the leopard was really hungry. How much rock do you have and is it possible that the shrimp is hiding from you in there somewhere?

Highly unlikely that the leopard molested the cleaner shrimp. That being said, a leopard wrasse in that sized tank has a low probability of success.

I've watched my leopard rip a peppermint shrimp in half and eat both pieces. The peppermint was about 2", but my leopard is pretty big, at least 3 1/2".

I hope the tank is covered, or he/she will be on the floor pretty soon.

Edit: forgot to add, the wrasse lives with 2 cleaner shrimp and doesn't pay them any attention. They are as big as her though.

Well there is your answer... if it eats ANYTHING you put in the tank and you just put a shrimp in there...

Be careful when adding rocks, the little guy might choke!

It probably depends on the size of the wrasse. I have a small leopard and he dosen't bother my 2 fire shrip and 1 cleaner shrimp. Both shrimp are med/large though.

Any peppermint shrimp will probably get eaten... they are basically food for most fish.
