I just noticed this shrimp in my acro. Is this little guy harmful? It didn't really look like it was eating the polyps or tissue, but its hard to tell. Sorry I don't clearer pics, I really need a macro lens. Thanks!

Commensal shrimps. I have a few, and all harmless. Mine is so bold that he comes out to grab mysis everytime I feed my tank.

@ Louist: Thats pretty sweet, thanks for the response. I'm stoked I spotted him. :D

@edwing206: Its kinda of a blury shot.

Thanks guys! Nope, I didn't do a dip on this piece. I have two Bandit crabs in there too. I wonder if they'll eat the shrimp.

Dipping SPS corals in an iodine dip is a biosecurity measure that will help reduce pathogen introduction into your system (ie. Acro Eating Flat Worms, Harmful Nudibranchs, etc.)

Here's a link to an article on peteducation.com.

Coral dip is mainly iodine. I use Tropic Marin Pro coral cure to dip all of my acros. It kills most of the parasites and flatworms.
