shrimp tussle

So I added a red fire shrimp to my tank yesterday, and sort of a long story, picked up another one today

They're both gorgeous!

When I added number 2, there was a tussle - the smaller of the two lost a leg and then they went their separate ways.

I feel like the worst is over - is it??

Just a word of advice, you should research before adding things to your tank. Especially inverts,fish etc. The outcome could be a disaster for you and your tankmates. Please don't take this as bashing you i'm just trying to save some heartache for you.....

multiple Lysmata species should co-exist just fine...

As with most of the same species I'm sure it was a quick pecking order fight. Even the more docile of inhabitants such as Green Reef Chromis do it. As long as you do the proper research you should be ok.

I would never classify Green Chromis as 'docile'.

The two fire shrimp are just keeping a distance right now - guess it'll be a while before they fall in love
