shuran skimmers!

I have one and I like it a lot too bad the model 200 cannot fit where i need it to fit. So i ended up with a Model 150 which is undersized for my tank and unfortunately will need to get rid of it for a bigger skimmer since i have a much higher bioload then before. I had some pics of the skimming performance within one day but i recently deleted them. Here is a pic of the skimmer right after i got it, the skimmate you see in there was for a couple hours.

how do you like it compared to others. was it worth its price, was the cup easily removed, was it easy to clean, do you need to clean the injector?

I've had the following skimmers, AquaC EV180 and EuroReef RS180. I like it better than both in terms of ease of use. It is hard to compare performance since my tank wasn't the same at those times.

The cup is very easy to clean and remove, just yank it off and rinse it.

When you need to clean the skimmer, it is very easily disambled. There are 8 wingnuts you will need to twist.

The location of the water outlet and pump are all adjustable in terms of position. This is very usefull to make it fit in a specifict location.

There is no injector since it is a venturi skimmer, but all the parts for the pump and the venturi are all twist off so they also can be cleaned very easily.

schuran are know for calcium reactors from what i've read, not for skimmers. my thinking is there are better skimmer brands available.

Their Calcium Reactor is definetely more common but it is pricy and hard to use. I owned one and it cannot function correctly without a dosing pump, but in general they make some good quality equipments from the experience I have.

Skimmers is one of those things that is nearly impossible to debate especially when the discussion is comparing known brands. Perhaps there are better skimmers out there but you won't know 100% which is better unless you do a side by side comparison. This is the reason why i just list out the benefits of the skimmers which have no subjectivity to them.

From the user reviews i've read about there skimmers they were all positive. There's just soooooo many skimmers out there that are good performers these days. Here's the big question i would have for you. Do you plan on running it stock or modding a skimmer. If you want to mod, there are many cheap alternatives, if not your going to pay more and get a good stock skimmer.

just awesome everyone i was orginally looking at the tunze 9010 for a 125 but then looked into the h&s and deltec then bubble master now im looking in to the elos and shuran skimmers everyone is so positve about these skimmers m having a hard time deciding im guessing either skimmer i buy will perform equally
