Attention Follow Reefers! This Saturday 3/27/10, I will be shutting down my 125 Gallon Reef System in Covington, VA and selling everything!!!
Unfortunately, I am going thru a divorce and the ex wants it out of the house. I don't have room in my new apartment so I have decided to shut it down and sell everything.
I wanted to post a thread to see if there is any interest out there in perhaps even having an impromptu Club Meeting at my house in Covington. The tank will be disassembled regardless and I will be keeping select items and taking a few frags so I can start over in my smaller 55 gallon reef at my new place.
This is a very mature system and some of the Corals are huge.
In particular, I have a Toadstool Mushroom Leather that is approximately 12-14 inches tall with a head that is 10-12 inches. I call it Goliath and there is no way it will fit an my small tank. There are lots of Acropora and some are very large, birdsnest, soft corals, you name it. Many of the Acropora are attached to very large pieces of live rock and the best thing would be for someone to purchase the entire pieces of rock with corals intact and transport in a large cooler to a new larger tank. This would be my preference, but I would be willing to simply frag them out and sell individual frags if that's what needs to happen.
This is a great opportunity to purchase hardware also. What hardward doesn't sell I will keep and put in storage but my main concern is finding a good home for all of the fish and corals. I will be posting more pics and perhaps even provide a link to my personal website where you can view a recent video of the tank.
For now, perhaps you active club members could chime in and see if there is any interest in having a "tank teardown meeting" at my house.
More Later,
Cameron
