Shutting Down 125 This Saturday Everything Must Go!

Attention Follow Reefers! This Saturday 3/27/10, I will be shutting down my 125 Gallon Reef System in Covington, VA and selling everything!!!

Unfortunately, I am going thru a divorce and the ex wants it out of the house. I don't have room in my new apartment so I have decided to shut it down and sell everything.

I wanted to post a thread to see if there is any interest out there in perhaps even having an impromptu Club Meeting at my house in Covington. The tank will be disassembled regardless and I will be keeping select items and taking a few frags so I can start over in my smaller 55 gallon reef at my new place.
This is a very mature system and some of the Corals are huge.
In particular, I have a Toadstool Mushroom Leather that is approximately 12-14 inches tall with a head that is 10-12 inches. I call it Goliath and there is no way it will fit an my small tank. There are lots of Acropora and some are very large, birdsnest, soft corals, you name it. Many of the Acropora are attached to very large pieces of live rock and the best thing would be for someone to purchase the entire pieces of rock with corals intact and transport in a large cooler to a new larger tank. This would be my preference, but I would be willing to simply frag them out and sell individual frags if that's what needs to happen.

This is a great opportunity to purchase hardware also. What hardward doesn't sell I will keep and put in storage but my main concern is finding a good home for all of the fish and corals. I will be posting more pics and perhaps even provide a link to my personal website where you can view a recent video of the tank.

For now, perhaps you active club members could chime in and see if there is any interest in having a "tank teardown meeting" at my house.

More Later,

Cameron

Id be interested in picking up some stuff depending on what you have. Best bet is to post up a list.

Sorry to hear about your situation, these can be difficult times personally as well as for your hobby. I would also be interested possibly in some of the sps but this weekend is no good for me. I would suggest posting some pictures if possible and prices you would like to get. If you do it another weekend I would probably make it schedule permitting.

Sorry to hear that you have to tare down your tank, I am sure if you post pic there will be people that would step up to the plate. Myself included, yes I am sure I can make room in my packed 180.

I also would be interested, equipment as well as stock. pm me if you want with address. Like the others I know this is a hard time for you and sorry to hear of your situation. Debbie

Looks very nice tank Cameron I only wished that I had the room to place collonies that size in my tank, A shame to take down such a mature reef but I understand it must be very hard for you. Any chance that you can post what kind of HW you have for sale and what you might want out of it and also what you are looking to get out of your corals.

Yes I would be interested in some of the sps colonies or frags and it looked like you had some of the neon trumpets I may be interested in. I would love to see the setup it looks very nice. I would suggest you just plan a meet/sale to get rid of as much as you can. If you figure out any pricing let us know.

Hey Folks,

Unfortunately, I am out of town travelling on business right now and don't really have a lot of time to create a detailed list of items and pricing. I appologize for this but there is just too much to even think about right now.
I will be at the house Friday afternoon doing some prep work and will try to make a more detailed list. I can assure you there are lots of corals, fish, live rock, used aquariums, lights, etc. In particular I also have several 48" long shallow frag tanks that are drilled with rear drain that I would like to sell. They were in a frag farm that I used to run in my basement and will sell them for around $35 each. I think I have about 6. Also have misc other tanks like a 20 gallon long with stand, 20 gallon tall, 55 gallon sump from the frag farm, used protein skimmers, pumps, the list goes on.
My best suggestion is to just come and see for your self. I will do my best to post more pics when I get there and can take them on Friday so stay tuned to this thread.

My address is:
3534 Kanawha Trail
Covington, VA 24426

If you want to check Mapquest, GPS, etc. I will post more details of the easiest way to find my house. I am in the Crows/Hemetite area off of Route 311 just where it splits from 159. It's about 12 miles off of interstate 64 in covington. Kinda out in the country, but you'll enjoy the scenery :)

PM Me if you want my cell number and I will call you back as soon as I can.

Getting ready to post more pics and detailed info on my personal website at
www.corallinedream.com

We will start at 10am until ???
I have lots of stuff that I plan on fragging and selling. See my website for detailed info.

Address is above.
The easiest way to get to my house is to get on Interstate 64-West and take Exit 10 - Callahan Exit which is Midland Trail / 159 South.
Turn Left, then drive about 12 miles until it spilts onto Route 311
Bear Right onto Route 311 and my house is 1/2 mile on the left.

It is a 1 story brick home with Log Fence around front yard.
There is a white Dodge Dakota with a U-haul trailer attached.
You can pull into the front yard and park on the grass, it's ok.
I'll move the Truck and Trailer so people can drive all the way around the house and exit the other side if we get a lot of people.

Hope to see as many of you as can make it. Maybe some of you can carpool together.
See you tommorrow.
