shy blonde naso

I have a blonde naso with no illnesses. he is just a juvy but he is really timid and doesn't eat anything but macro algae. anyone have a naso that was like this before? he's been in the tank for a month now.

WHat size tank? WHat else are you trying to feed him/her?

125 gallon but i've tried to deprive him of macro algae cause that's in the refugium and i've seen him nibble on flakes but he spits them out and also formula 2 for herbivors and some seawead sheets (cut up and floating in the water and also sheets pinched between rocks).

Does he eat the sheets or no?

it doesn't eat anything except for the macro algae that looks like small grape vines. I decided to try that macro algae one day and i cut up some pieces and threw it in and he swam up to it and ate it like crazy.

his only tank mates are 2 mated ocellaris clowns, a yellow citron goby, and a koran angelfish that is a juvinile as well. They all get along fine.

have you tried soaking some of the sheets in garlic or maybe mixing some sheets in with the macro. SOme fish can be very picky. Try doing a google search on feeding techniques, or getting tang to eat, feeding tricks. Any of these phrases may give you some good links and ideas.

Mine initially went through that phase, and it ate only frozen blood worms (not even pellet, flake, nori, or frozen brine shrimp).

After a while it'll eat anything I throw in the tank, but getting it to eat was tough. Give your naso some time and he'll eat like a pig.

yeah i'll give it some time i mean he's only been in the tank a month and i'll probalby try some garlic extract too i just haven't gotten around to it yet.
