SiamReefClub tank project III

Amazing chingchai, as always.......

One other reason for me to visit bangkok soon.......
I wish we had such reef club in indonesia.

Whats the main focus for this tabk, sps, lps, or mix of two?
Also can you show us the filtration system of this tank?

Best regars,
Irsan

Irsan. You are welcome to our club.
This tank we will mainly keep soft corals(mushroom, zoanthid, xenia, clove, star polyp etc.). No SPS and LPS.
I will post pictures of the filtration next week.

Chingchai,
This project looks awesome, I feel a little late to comment on this but the bottom crack was probably caused from unwanted stress from the plumbing. I noticed that the plumbing is just siliconed to the glass. Do you guys not believe in bulkheads?

The rockwork looks amazing and really well done. I also like how you installed inline filters, A really nice touch. The overall project looks fantastic and can't wait to see it progress. One day if I ever make it to that part of the world, I'll be sure to introduce myself.

By the way, Did you ever find that elephant?
Cheers
Rob

Rob. Thank you for your comments.
Yes, it is possible that the crack is caused by the stress from the plumbing.
Hope to see you in the future.
Sorry, can't find the elephant yet. :-)

Thanks for your reply on the acrylic aging question.

Also thankful for reef forums like RC and UR which provide the platform for information sharing.

Wow

Wow

Hi Chingchai!

The new build looks amazing! I loved the old tank, but looks like this one will be even better! I hope to visit the club again one day, and have a beer together enjoying the new tank.

Can't wait for the updates.

Kyle

After 2 weeks of freshwater and 2 weeks of saltwater running.
Next week we will start using this local salt and introduce corals.

Wow those lab values look spot on.
Waiting to hear your reviews on the new salt mix.

2 weeks for fresh water that will be for a leak test? Am I right ?

Yes, I agree with you for the lab values.
We run each 2 week of fresh and salt water to clean the fake rock.
