Sicce Wave Surfer (settings)

I have had one voyager powerhead for 6 months now running on constantly with another tunze powerhead

Over the weekend i bought another voyager powerhead along with the wave surfer , i moved the tunze powerhead into my sump and now i want to try find the best setting to run the surfer on.

at the moment i have them set for left powerhead on for 15 secs then right powerhead on for 15 secs they face each other from the opposite sides of the tank (5ft)

Anyone use these things on here ? or better to just run both powerheads on all the time ?

I used to run my voyager 3's for about 30-45 seconds per side. What's your system comprised of in terms of fish.

If you have smaller fish, you may want to keep the time cycle down a bit. Do you have any tangs? If so....they like stronger current. Coral wise SPS need higher flow than LPS.

Best way to see how the tank reacts is to feed the tank with small ROE eggs or caviar. That way...when they blow around the tank you can get a better idea of the flow pattern.

I played with the time cycle and power head positioning for a bit before I was happy.

i have a yellow tang and a blue tang , 4 chromis and 2 percs , bi colour , the tank is heavy loaded with live rock

i have been thinking about moving powerheads to back glass and directing at front glass diagonally towards the centre ... but no sure at this stage
