Sick anemones

Just a question, I received a free rbta from a friend that had some bad luck. The first thing was a 12 fan wire dropped into his tank and he said the rbta had shrunk up allot. After that happened he said it started to get better then a wire fell off of his pc fan and the tank ran at 100 for a couple days. The anemones is now in my tank he is eating krill fine and is really bleached in color and his tenticals are little pink knobs. Am I just waisting my time with him or do you think he will turn around and be fine?

If it's eating, staying put on the rocks, and in a stable environment, you could probably bring it back. It will prbably take quite a few months, though.

If the tentacles are white you may recover it. If they get clear then I doubt it will recover. If it has a distented mouth you are in trouble.

If it's taking food you should be fine. My BTA ended up being half bleached after crawling under a rock for over a month. Once I repositioned the rock to get it back under some light and feed it, it recovered nicely in about a month, lots of colour again. During the recovery period it redeveloped it's bubble tips which disappeared not long after I introduced it into the tank and started growing. Almost seems as if reverting to bubble tips allows for quicker regeneration of the zoox... due to larger surface area??
