Sick Anenome I think

Recently my BTA has shrank in size and has very few tenticle's to it. The tenticles it has now are little shrivled nubs. It was a big anenome at one point with alot of large tenticles. I know my water perameters are in the right zone according to the LFS. Over the last 2 weeks I had started to feed my fish and corals with krill for my Niger Trigger and frozen phytoplankton for the coral. Before I only fed with frozen brine.

Are you target feeding it? Small pieces of silverside(no bigger than a pencil erasier) or some mysis shrimp. Hes probably hungry

i always listen to the LFS, then come back here to RC to get a second opinion. ;)

This is hard.. Everytime I buy some type of coral from this perticular LFS something happens to it in my tank. When I buy from another store it thrives..Like my frogspawn. In the last 2 weeks it has trippled in size. I guess you have to be careful were you buy stuff from. Right now my anenome looks worse than that in from the website israelnajar posted

90% of LFS are worthless

be very carefull

I agree with GSMguy about 90% of LFS being worthless.

I am lucky enough to have a great LFS.

How old is your nem? When I first got mine it did the same thing as yours. My nem was wild caught so it took about a month and a half to acclimate to being in my tank. It wouldn't eat it always was hiding, and bleached.

This is a couple of days after we got it. 12/21/06

This is 1/14/07, the worst has past but still very bleached and almost no tentacles.

Try feeding it some silver sides. When mine wouldn't eat I had to use some soft airline and a syringe to feed it mysis, I did that twice a week until it got used to eating non live food. Now it takes whole silver sides readily, two a day for about 4 days and then nothing for 3 days. It seems to like this schedule, I tried feeding it mysis but they just stick for a while and then I guess the nem lets go. So your nem might just need meatier foods.

Try also dosing reef plus, 5 ml every other day for a week and then 10 ml after that. That might help the zoanthale, and in turn help the nem.

Mine is similar to israelnajar's 3rd picture. He has attached to LR down below and stretches up for food and light.
