Sick brain - emergency help needed!

Hi,
I received a beautiful Favia two days ago, and tonight the tissue on the top of it has turned greyish and looks 'loose,' for want of a better word:

I'm pretty certain it will lose the tissue on the top, but what can I do to prevent the spread of whatever this is?

Tank params are "normal" and everything else in the tank looks fine.

Thx,

What is that coral to the right in the photo? It looks like a hammer or torch. If so, it may have stung the favia on top, keep a good distance between them. Wa the coral shipped to you? Was it possible the the area was crushed or out of water? Hope this helps.

It's a pipe organ, and I just moved the Favia to the front to get a pic, so I don't think it was stung.

Yes, it was shipped, so you're probably right about it being damaged during shipment.

In about 45 minutes, absent any other advice, I'm going to give it a freshwater dip & move it into a hospital tank.

Thanks,
-R

I don't think I would give it a FW dip. I think that would just cause it further stress. Maybe a Lugols dip.

I would also just leave mine in the main display and let it acclimate. No need in moving it around further stressing it.

I may be wrong, just my two cents.
