Sick Coral?

I bought a leather finger coral and added it to my 24 gallon AquaPod about 5 days ago. The day after I put him in my tank, he shed some "fuzzy stuff." The guys at my local aquarium store said this was normal and it was something similar to mucus. The next day everything seemed fine.

A few days later, today, the coral looks like it is kind of leaning or slumped over, not as perky as it should be. Here are the specs on my tank:

PH 8.4
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
KH 10
Calcium 420
Phosphate 0
Amonia 0

Temperature had been pretty much constantly 78-79 until today, but unfortunately it shot up to 84 degrees at some point during the day. When I got home I turned the lights off and put a fan on the tank, and it is cooling back down now. I only have one fish in the tank, a cleaner goby, and he seems to be happily going about his business right now.

Has this temperature change harmed my coral, or is something else going on? Thoughts? How do I fix it?

Also I meant to mention that I am feeding the coral "Premium Reef Blend" Phytoplankton every other day. I'm dropping in about 1 1/3 cap fulls. I measured this out with a teaspoon measuring cup, and it comes out to the required dose for my tank size.

mine does the same thing I have had mine for two years its a shedding and growing process they do I know it does not look that great looking when they slump over and shed but I'm sure your leather is ok give it some time . Sometimes mine well look terrible for 1 week then look great again I guess its natural for them to do that your water quality looks good . I know other people on this forum are having the same problems. Give you leather a chance to pop back to looking good again . I hope this helps

My finger leather also does this. The first time I saw it happen, I thought I was killing it, but I've had it for about 3 months now and it's doing fine. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As long as you keep your parameters where they are right now, and consistant, you shouldn't have a problem with it. Leathers are quite resilient, imo. ;)

Alright guys, thanks for the advise. I'll keep an eye on my metrics and just wait it out and "try to think happy thoughts." :)
