Sick long nose hawkfish

My longnose hawk isn't eating and he is breathing rapidly. His color is good but he isn't swimming around much. All the other creatures seem to be doing fine. I'd appreciate any help.

Is he hiding or swimming into the flow when he is swimming?

He is hiding.

Signs of velvet are swimming into the flow, hiding, not eating, breathing rapidly. Have you noticed any spots on him at all?

Have you noticed anything out of the ordinary with him at all color wise? A picture is worth a thousand words if you can get us one.

I can't get a picture right now, but his color is really good. No spots of any kind.

I tried a fresh water dip, to no avail.

If I remember correctly, hawkfish more or less just wait for prey to come by. They don't swim around much. Are you sure his breathing is really fast, the FW dip probably helped clear mucous off his gills. Did you notice better breathing after the dip?

He died last night. The lfs was thinking it was constipation. We started using epsom salt, but I think it was too late. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
