Sick of being skimmerless (CSS125 purchase)

I've run my 90 gal for 4-6 weeks without a skimmer. I've been having algae problems. So i broke down and purchase a Coralife Super Skimmer (rated for 125 gals). I'll let you know if it reduces the algae problems. By the way I have to run this a HOT. Does anyone know how to reduce the microbubbles. I read the 101 pages on another post.

I have a CSS 125;)

Does a great job!.. As for the bubbles, i keep the water level over the bubble diffuser box. I generally dry skim or semi wet. I pull alot of stinky gunk with that thing. I was impressed for the price. I use mine as a HOT in my sump due to small remaining foot print from various other pumps, heater and probes. I have no bubbles in my display.

Good luck

I use the foam intake filter off of a Mag Drive pump. It is much smaller than the stock box that comes with it. It slips right over the tube on the skimmer.
The CSS are great skimmers for the money.
