I have a purple tang that was very healthy and eats great but the last 2 days it is sitting in the same spot heavy breathing and not interested in food. No signs of Ich or flukes and all other fish in the tank including a hippo tang are just fine. Water is good as well. Any ideas or sugestions? Tank is a 200 and their is no chance I can catch him to isolate him.

What is normal diet? What is the ORP and water test results would help? He could be old and it is that time. How big is he? Potentially he ate too much and needs to rest. Then again he might be having a hard time pooping. Do you have a UV unit running? When is the last time you did a water change?
