sick regal angel, need some help

Im keeping a regal angelfish in my friends 90 gallon. Now here is the problem, i have gotten the little guy to eat but he has this weird growth all over him, it looks very similar to velvet but not sure if thats it. He is still eating but i would like to treat him asap, he is basically by himself in the tank, only a smaller goby in with him. Its very possible he came in sick from the lfs since he didnt come from the best place.

All parameters are good on the tank and i just want to know what type of medications i could try, i allready did a freshwater dip. Would really like to save this little guy since he is mine(just staying with my friend until i upgrade). I won the battle of getting him to eat, now i just need to get him healthy.

If you can post a picture it would help in a diagnosis. If he does have ich or velvet the treatment is the same. Remove to a sick tank and treat with copper or formalin or both. You don't want to treat him in your friends tank.

Im about to go out and buy a qt tank, a friend is giving me a sponge that has been in his fuge for awhile and well ill try to help. It has been confirmed as ich(so thats somehow of a relief). where can i get ahold of formalin?

It sold as a name brand called Rid ich. It contains formalin and malachite green. You should be able to get it at your local fish store.

Keep an eye on ammonia build up in QT. Remmember QT has no biofilter. Keep water and ammonia detox on hand.
