Hi.
I have a six-line wrasse that is exhibiting weird swimming behaviour. I have had him in my 55 hexagon reef for about 2 weeks now, with no problems. He's been eating well, swimming actively, grazing on algae and anything he can find on the rocks (have about 60-65 lbs of live rock in there). About an hour ago I noticed him rubbing against the sand and rocks then going into a barrel-roll and finally settling down upside down in a crevasse between the sand and rocks, breathing heavily. After about a minute or two of lying there, upside down, he gets up and swims around like nothing happened, then he does it like 5-10 minutes later. I have noticed that he was hanging around my BTA quite a bit, getting very close to it, and am guessing that he might have gotten stung, I don't know.
My other fish inhabitants are 2 ocellaris clowns and an orange-spotted blenny. I also have several corals (including frogspawn and torch) in addition to the ~7 inch in diameter BTA. I haven't seen him chased or attacked by anyone in the tank, though he does definitely get close and possibly graze the anemone. I did a 20% water change about 2 days ago and my nitrates and nitrites are at 0 while my ammonia is less than .10ppm. None of the other fish are behaving this way and I have searched both on WWM and RC for some disease of Six-Line Wrasses that would cause them to act like this and I have found nothing. I have covered the front of the tank so as to possibly reduce the stress level of the wrasse, but I don't know if that will help. If anyone has any experience with a six-line wrasse acting this way, or a similar fish acting this way, with no signs of disease (he has no white spots, no damage, looks fine), please let me know possible sources. Also, if anyone has info on BTA or anemone stings to small reef fishes, it would also be appreciated. This is very sudden and I am quite confused, so any info is appreciated.
Thanks
