Sick SPS frag?

I'm not sure what's wrong with this frag (photo attached). It's gradually losing polyps, beginning at the base and moving upward over the course of the past 10 days.

Other coral in the tank (SPS, LPS) are all doing well. Water parameters are good. Light at this spot is about 230 umol/m2/s and walter flow is moderate. Any ideas?

thanks,
Brian

Thats look pretty terminal, have you checked your alkalinity?

If it were me id frag off that good branch on the left hand side of the coral

,looks liek the ora green bird or similar

agree with cutting it if you have been watching this progress over the last 10 days and it isnt stopping

cut it now. Its a pretty hardly coral. I bet you can save a couple of little frags off of it. Make sure to cut it well into healthy tissue and seal the ends with glue

Thanks for the advice. My alkalinity is 9.8 Dkh; calcium is 420 PPM and magnesium is 1380 PPM. PH is 8.2. Other corals in the tank look ok. What causes this? Is it disease?

not enough information to even make a guess

sometimes it just happens and you will never know the why

Poor or too rapid acclimation can cause this on new frags.
