Sick SPS when delivered - HELP

I received this 2 days ago and its rapidly getting worse.

Apparently it fell over onto a Lobo at the wholesalers over night and he didn't think it would survive but sent it anyway.

Can I save this?
What should I do? I am quite new to SPS and this will probably be an uphill battle for me

It was only partially bleached when it arrived but is getting worse by the hour today.

I'm also a bit worried about this one too - I have not seen any PE yet and looks to be losing its colour.

If I were you I would cut multiple frags off the first one to try and save at least some of it..Make sure you only cut the fleshy part and none of the bleached parts. The second looks ok for now and is just stressing a bit. It could take a month before color starts to restore itself...Make sure you light acclimate your SPS's properly and always start low in your tank and slowly raise in your tank over time....1-2 weeks at least...some may disagree with this but it is how i do it and so far i have very postive results.

I agree the first one is a goner. Frag it as fast as you can and hope one of the frags make it. The second one looks like it could recover. Just keep it low for now and watch it closely to see if it starts to do the same thing. I have had SPS arrives looking pretty bad but in a couple of weeks they recovered. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I got two frags off tonight and have them in a sheltered area without too much light. This is my first frag attempt so not really sure if I did it right. Guess we shall see soon - if it can survive at all.

Other than starting it down low in the tank, what else do you do to lighting wise whilst they adjust?

Nothing with the lights....just make sure your frags is not sitting in a hot spot of light...sometimes off to the side is better...Just remember that this could take some time between healing and getting appropriate color back. How did you mount the frags anyways? Do you have pics of your frags?

Regards,

Been away for work for a few days and honestly was expecting them to be dead when I got back. Haven't taken any photos yet but I was happily surprise that when I got home tonight, the polyps were extended on both frags and no signs of distress - fingers crossed. Just mounted them on a small rock using reefsafe Aquastik epoxy putty. I'll post a photo tomorrow.
