sick tang and don't know what kind ?

this just happened in a day, he' the biggest tang in the 120, looks like a wound , never seen him gotten picked on, everybody gets along well, for years, but maybe a disease? any thoughts , thanks for your time ,

any clue as to what species ?

It does look like a wound/injury. But the frayed tail fin suggests either something is attacking him or a bacterial infection: Bacterial Infections

so the next question should be if it is a bacteria infection, how could I know if it is contagious ? Unfortunately I don't have a quarantine tank,

Like, I say, I'm having a hard time believing that hes being attacked. Everyone gets along very well in that tank and has been for a long time.

So long as your other fish are in good shape, their immune systems should protect them.

However, I would start feeding all your fish vitamins, probiotics, Beta-glucan to boost their immune systems: Vitamins, Probiotics & Herbal Remedies

You can give the tang antibiotic baths if you can catch him: Antibiotics
