sick target mandarin?

I thought my target mandarin was being overly photogenic tonite..then realized he seems to be ill. He is having a hard time keeping his rear end down...like it keeps wanting to float up over his head....

Is this a symptom of something common? I turned lights out..so that he will hopefully sleep some. All the other fish seem fine.

I caught some pictures of him tonite..he appears normal in the pictures... but shortly after this..he kept hanging out in the corner of the tank..and his rear kept floating up..and it looked like he was having a hard time pushing it back down....and he normally isn't out in the open this much.

Hard to tell. It looks very healthy though. Please keep us posted. I have never heard of that problem with the Mandarins. I hope he is doing better today.

BTW webgirlunleashed is a catchy phrase, I like it:)

LOL...thanks... the marketing guy at work was always calling me web girl... so when my old domain name got snagged (forgot to renew it) I came up with that.

He is still swimming vertical this morning... I've got an email into Rob at Rob's reef too.... I looked online and it was sounding like swim bladder disease... but what do I know... I thought maybe he's seen something like this before.

Right now..he is holding onto a mushroom vertically...sitting still..although inbetween that..it almost looks like he is still trying to eat...

still eating is a good thing. I thought about a bladder problem as well. Good thing is, you got a nice fat healthly fish. I hope he turns out fine. Pictures are excellent as well. What camera are you using?

Its a canon powershot A40 ...

They turned out well only because he was sitting still....sometimes I have a hard time getting the camera to take the photo when I want...it needs too long inbetween pictures.... so I've been wanting to get a new one...

But we have other things on our list first ... before I can get that... :( although a 220 gallon in Jan. is hopefully coming....

Yeah...I've promised when I get that to combine my 65 and 46 so that we just have that tank...

But I'm going to try and talk my way into having a nano tank too... so that I can get sea horses...

Will a GSM clown live with seahorses? I have a GSM in my 46 gallon..that I won't be able to put in w/ my 65 inhabitants..cuz I have false percs in there...

I was wondering if they would co-habitate w/ the seahorses or not?

I would not think a Gold stripped Maroon would live with seahorses. The Maroons can get quite agressive. I think a tall octagon tank would be a great seahorse tank.

ok...thanks... when I finally do the tank upgrade...I'll probably have to rehome him and his anemone then.... the friends I am selling my 65 to will maybe want him though :) its a ways off yet though...so I won't worry bout it til then.... heh

Cool. I hope it works out for you. I really like the seahorse tanks that I have seen. Just never ventured into that arena yet.

I have not seen her since yesterday at about 5pm...I am fearing the worst... if she dies...I probably will lose her to the cleaning crew before I can find her...

I've looked in the tank several times today..and have not located her :( If I find her and she is alive..will post back...
