Sierra Reef

Very, very nice. A work of art. If you don't mind, I noticed in an earlier part of this post that it looks like you are using Vortech battery back-ups, however, I don't see vortech power heads, It looks like you are running Tunse power heads. Were you able to connect the Tunse power heads to the battery back-ups and if so, how did you accomplish this? Thank you.

Thank you for the compliment ! you're right , I use a Tunze the adapter itself for this purpose(tunze safety connector). just had to use the plug that came with the battery Vortech and make a small adjustment

Thank you tomae.

I love the idea of the fake rock bases. Have you noticed any issues using it compared to using real rock base? Crud buildup inside of it or fast algae build up? I'm now considering using some for a fish/zoa tank for my wife in a 20 or 29 gallon.

In fact I only saw good things about them. corals stick more easily, had no type of algae , only pinks . there is no sedimentation, erosion. I think it does not accumulate dirt inside because I have no detectable nitrate or phosphate.
I can only tell you to use them , are beautiful , light , nature ..... Today there is not much difference as you see , there is much coralline algae and tube worms

best regards

I found some of this stuff on ebay

Do you think it's made by the same company? I'm really interested in buying some, but I guess I'm concerned about what it could leach into the water column. Your reef looks really healthy so obviously if your rock is leaching something, it's not affecting your corals dramatically.

Awesome tank!

Can you tell me what T5 bulbs you are running and what LED light you are using in your fixture? I would also love to see pics of how you built the hanging canopy if you have them.

every day my tank is more sps and less other types of coral, so I asked to move here

I hope you enjoy
