Signs Bangaii cardinals have paired

I have recently purchased 4 Bangaii Cardinals with the hope of finding a male/female pair. I am wondering what I need to look for when it comes to them pairing up. I dont want the other 2 to get hurt or die due to aggression so i want to make sure I keep my eye on them

First off, are the 4 of reproductive age yet? If not, you'll just have to wait to see. When they are older and in a smaller tank, you'll see two hanging close to each other and, eventually, each of the other two turning more black (stress colors) and hanging out in the corners. You might also see some nipping or chasing. As soon as you see two hanging out together, remove the others.

Good luck! Right now I have five males (in separate tanks) and one female. But, I found a few captive-bred ones that are coming in next week so I can try to pair my extras. Fortunately, I have a certain male (he's carried eggs) that I can use to sex the newcomers when they are old enough.

Well it didnt take long to find my pair....They pretty much paired up and put the other 2 into corners and just wouldnt let them out....I was able to get one out but the other has died stuffed inside the rocks...Im not able to get him out at all...Im wondering if it is going to be a problem if he stays there...Still trying to get him out but no promises....

I have two in a 28 gallon tank (with a pair of black and white clowns). If they are not fighting does this indicate that I have a pair? I have had them for over a year and would really like to try and raise some fry.

If you've had them over a year in a 28 gal. tank and they haven't killed each other then they are likely a pair. Feed 'em a lot.

Good luck!
