Signs of Too Much or Too Little Light

I just upgraded the lights on my 24" tall 55 gallon tank from 2x65W PC to 4x39W T5. It's a lot brighter now. How can I tell if the mushrooms are getting too much light? The mushrooms are on the middle and bottom of the tank but are not shaded.

You will be able to tell. They will shrivel or sometimes even float away to find a more suitable place.

So it'll actually take a few days? Are you saying that if it stays put it is fine?

if they start to shrivel up or bleach then they're not doing well, otherwise they're ok, it's all about how much they open up compared to how much they used to open up

They look the same right now...on the sand bed about 24" from the light. Tank is a lot brighter now.
