Allmost New member Jan 29, 2013 #1 Hello, I was wondering if I can melt silica beads found in new bags and such in ro boiling water and dose it to my reef ? Want to dose silica, for sponges, but not sure what else is in the silica gel beads ... Or if it's reef safe. Thank you.

B bertoni Premium Member Jan 29, 2013 #2 I doubt that form would be soluble enough to be useful. I used sodium silicate (water glass).
