silt under my rock

I get grey silt under my rock. i see it in the nooks and cranny's.
Do I blow that out with a powerhead and let my cannister filter get it?

that is the natural build up of detritus and debris that builds up over time. Take a powerhead and stir it up or take a turkey baster and blow it out that way. Your filter will take care of the rest.
