silver sides or some thing else?

I know a lot of people feed their anemone's silver sides. I can't find any respectable place in my area that sells silversides yet. There is one store called the critter shop, I am told they might sell silversides there. I went in there once, took one look and then headed straight for the exit.( It was that bad) In the mean time I'm looking for something else.

Can I feed my anemone some thing like pieces of herring or sardines insted?

If these won't work then I'll keep looking for silversides.

Right now I'm feeding it raw table shrimp, sea scallops and pieces of squid. I want to feed it fish but silversides are not an option at this point. Thanks for any of your helpful comments.

YOu can feed something else, silversides are not required, just generally a healthy easy to find food, obviously not so in your case.
Fwiw, my anemone's all love clams. They will also eat table shrimp and i would include small pieces of fish from time to time. Try and vary it, that has always been most successfull for me even when you get silversides.

Unless you have a haddoni carpet, or a H. magnifica, most host anemones are not really capable of catching fish in the wild.

What you are feeding is fine. Some would even say better than silversides.
