Simple PPM question water or dust?

For a tank is it more about the PPM of the water AND the container? Or does the container not really matter?

From what I understand, PPM can be raised by simple things like dust or even left over salt residue. PPM is mostly more important concerning the water coming out of my RODI versus the container itself correct?

For example I put fresh 0 ppm rodi water into a bucket and that bucket then was measured around 001 ppm, does that really matter for the tank?

i always check the tds of the output of ro/di water to be zero. once in the bin there are many factors involved like dust and residue and sometimes people mix cal or alk or mag supplements in ro/di water to be injected as water evaporates.
I would only worry about tds in ro/di bin if for curtain you know u dropped something in it by accident that shouldnt be there like soap, copper, metals etc.

Thanks, I'm trying to pinpoint down the source of my cyano. It could just very well be from keeping the blinds open by the patio door by the tank.

I also have an ATO RODI water under my tank that when I read it said 004ppm should I be worried about that or no?

ATO bin water i am not worried about as long as it came out of the ro/di unit at 0 tds.
Direct source of light (from blinds) could be good starting point to look into cyano bacteria problem.
I have a friend here in Oklahoma that owns a reef shop and he has a 300 gal tank in the very front of his store facing glass front of the store thus getting a lot of sun light daily. he had massive issues with cyano till he installed a while curtain on the outside of the glass wall.
