I am currently using (2) 160w VHO actinics for my sunrise/sunset type setting and was thinking about switching out to 2 or 3 of the simu-l flash stocks or spots to try to accomplish this with less power usage. Plus I wont have to replace $80 worth of bulbs every year....

Anyone see any issues with this ??? Possibly a bad effect on any of the corals not getting the extra 320w of VHO light ??? The main lighting is (3) 250w Reeflux 12K's with LB reflectors....

search on U tube, there a a few on there and also that have been posted here too

But for specific spec

4' tanks and below - one x Simu-L (unless you want a more brighter effect)

5' tanks and above 2 x Simu-L or 2 x Simu Spot

Spot good for directional lighting such as mimic moon surface refection

Simu-L stick good for all over effect and coverage.

I have seen great effects with one of each.

as many as you like, it is determined by the amount of available L ports. At present that could be as many as 14 if you fully configured just with L ports using PLM-4L

I'm nowhere near my Profilux right now, but I though the powersupply was rated for less that 20 watts and each light stick was rated for 2 or 3 watts.

My powersupply do get slightly hot when just running two sticks (simu-l).

BLAH, couldnt find any good pictures on U tube......

I dunno if im going to do this though, Im guessing my corals might notice the 320w of actinic light missing....

The LED's are very bright and also can be run with your actinics if you so choose.

I add in some red at the end of the day (whan just the
actinics are on) it really makes the reds come up.
